Springvale Care Home is based in the beautiful Lennoxtown, a village in East Dunbartonshire. Situated at the foot of the Campsie Fells and with a current population of around 4,000, this is a popular spot for those who are keen on fishing, history and escaping to nature. The local area features a selection of shops, restaurants, bars and cafes where our residents love to visit with their loved ones, as well as plenty of public transport options that are ready to take you wherever you need to go.

Our home is perfectly positioned for our residents and their guests to get everything they need from our care home and the area that surrounds them. With regards to activities and off-site adventures, we have a lot to offer, from historical visits to galleries and museums to a variety of shopping opportunities and cafes.

We recognise that residents with nursing needs require care that not only reflects their medical needs, but also their physical, psychological, emotional and social requirements. Springvale Care Home offers around-the-clock nursing care plans, created uniquely for each resident. We aim to go above and beyond each and every day to provide comprehensive care, 24-hours a day. Our experienced and knowledgeable team enables us to look after a wide range of individuals including those with physical disabilities, those who need palliative care or those with higher dependency needs, as well as those who become infirm.

Respite Care

If you’re looking to take a break from caring duties, Springvale provides the a supportive environment in which residents reside for a period of time while the care-giver can recharge and take a break. This is also the ideal solution for those who need short-term recovery from a recent injury or illness. A respite stay can last anywhere from a couple of weeks to a few months; each resident’s length of stay is based purely on their individual needs. Whether you care for a loved one or need a break yourself, you can truly relax knowing that a safe, welcoming environment and staff awaits.

Lennoxtown

Lennoxtown is known for being home to Lennox Castle. Commissioned by David Hamilton, this castle was designed and built between 1837 and 1841. Lennox Castle was then utilised as a maternity and mental hospital when it was sold in 1927 until 2002. Part of the mediaeval castle grounds now houses Celtic Football Club’s modern training facility, which is popular amongst our more sport-focused residents. Most fampously and arguably the biggest attraction to Lennoxtown, is the beautiful Campsie Fells. This incredible range of volcanic hills in central Scotland, north of Glasgow, is a popular area for walking. One of the walking routes starts at the Lennoxtown Memorial Hall and reaches the highest point of the range is Earl’s Seat which rises to 578m. ​​Visitors are also attracted to the area for whisky distillation with the Glengoyne single malt distillery sitting at the foot of the fells just west of Dumgoyne hill, a prominent landmark of the Campsie fells. The village also features a selection of local shops, restaurants, bars and cafes that our residents love to visit with their loved ones, as well as plenty of public transport options that connect Lennoxtown with larger nearby cities.

Glasgow

Glasgow’s vibrant city centre offers an variety of things to see and do for all ages and interests. Easily accessible in just 25 minutes by car and with great public transport links nearby, including rail and bus services, Glasgow continues to be a favourite destination for our residents. The centrepiece of the city centre is a neo-classical building which is home to the Gallery of Modern Art. This gallery is famously, the most visited modern art gallery in Scotland, and offers both national and international exhibitions. Nestled away in the middle of Glasgow, Hogganfield Loch is a small tranquil oasis that offers a calm and relaxing escape from the bustling city. Hogganfield Loch is a shallow loch surrounded by park land and holding a small wooded island off its eastern bank. Easily traversed by wheelchairs and is flat throughout, makes it an ideal place for those with impaired mobility to visit. This sparkling city also offers some of the best shopping experiences outside of London, as well as a wonderful array of restaurants and cafes at Buchanan Galleries. As Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow offers some of the best examples of Scottish history, culture, architecture and hospitality.

Edinburgh

Accessible via car in approximately 1 hour from Springvale Care Home, this fast-paced city has so much to offer residents. For family days out, Edinburgh has so much to offer. Edinburgh Zoo is home to over 1,000 rare animals from around the world and home to the UK’s only giant pandas and koalas and is ideal for all ages. The Royal Botanic Gardens is a pleasure for all ages, where you can enjoy leisurely strolls, a family picnic and the Garden offers fantastic views of the capital’s skyline. Located just one mile from the city centre, this beautiful part of Scotland presents visitors peace and tranquillity amongst 72 acres of stunning scenery. The Royal Yacht Britannia, which for over 40 years served the queen, covering over 1 million miles, is a wonderful time capsule where you can learn about the royal floating palace, indulge in Afternoon Tea in the team room and peruse the gift shop for unique souvenirs. Rosslyn Chapel, a few miles to the south of the city is also a key part of Glasgow. It has been a place of worship since 1446 but gained international prominence when it played a key role in Dan Brown’s book The Da Vinci Code.
