Dementia Care in Glasgow
Our residents with dementia receive constant engagement and support, whether that be from the nurses who spend every day communicating with them or the Activities Team who take the time to learn about their interests. Our Activities Team works hard to incorporate our residents’ hobbies into our activities programme and also come up with inclusive and engaging dementia-friendly activities. Such activities include gardening, creating memory boxes, reminiscence, and arts and crafts.
Located at the foot of the Campsie Fells, our residents benefit from stunning views of the hills and wildlife, and vast outdoor areas to explore. We also boast our very own private secure gardens which have seating for our residents to socialise, dine or just have some alone time reading a book. For our residents with dementia, having access to these outdoor spaces at their fingertips has real advantages, as they provide a calming and tranquil environment.
Within the wider community, residents and their loved ones will find a plethora of things to do in and around Glasgow, offering them a chance to live an active and enjoyable lifestyle. For families looking for a fun day out, the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum offers an educational experience which showcases art and history in a visually exciting way. The Glasgow Botanic Gardens are also just a 25 minute drive from Springvale Care Home. Whether it’s to attend one of the many events they host throughout the year or to see the gardens in all their glory and have an afternoon tea, there is truly something here for everyone.
