100-lap Sponsored Scoot Raises Much Needed Cash for Local Care Home

They say charity begins at home… recently one of our kind-hearted residents did a sponsored scoot around the grounds and gardens of Springvale Care Home.

Helen wanted to raise money for John Street House Care Home in Kirkintilloch, where her son is a resident. Staff and residents at John Street House had planned a sponsored walk, but owing to COVID-19 restrictions, Helen could not take part with them, so she did the next best thing – her very own sponsored event.

Staff from Springvale, as well as Helen’s friends and family sponsored her to complete 100 laps of the grounds. Committed to the cause and with the aim of raising £100, Helen went out in all weathers over a few days to complete the fundraising feat.

Due to the generosity of everyone who sponsored her, an amazing total of £375 was raised. A great achievement – well done Helen!
