Summer Farewell: Beach Bash Finale
To celebrate the end of the summer we held our annual garden party, planned by the deputy manager of the home. The theme of the day was 'A Cocktail by the Seaside’. The summer party was to celebrate the end of summer and raise funds for the residents' activity fund.
There was so much going on at the summer party, where there were plenty of intergenerational activities for all to enjoy. We enjoyed cocktails and welcomed friends and family to join us, as well as those in the local community. The residents at our care home in East Dunbartonshire enjoyed welcoming their loved ones into the home in a less formal manner, and it supported integration into the local community.
There was a selection of delicious food and drink on offer, from home-baked goods to a pick 'n' mix stand and a blow-up palm tree full of fizzy drinks. Thank you to our head chef and family members who made and brought food for the event.
The weather was warm and everyone was in good spirits. A vibrant and lively atmosphere formed where loved ones spent quality time with one another. Head chef Ross was heading up the BBQ.
The children enjoyed a variety of activities especially created for them, including face painting, glitter tattoos, a bouncy castle and a sand pit with paddling pool. There was also a tortoise mini petting zoo and ice cream station. The cocktail bar was serving fruity cocktails and mocktails. Visitors and residents enjoyed a live performance from Alan Park.
There was also a tombola and raffle with some fantastic prizes up for grabs. We raised an amazing £1330 for our residents' fund, thank you to everyone who donated towards this fantastic achievement.
We would like to thank everyone who organised and attended the event to make it a spectacular occasion. We look forward to next year's summer party!
