Four-Legged Friend

The team at Springvale Care Home provide a wide variety of activities offering plenty of variety and choice but when our little four-legged friend Marley is in the home he quickly becomes the star attraction of the day.

Marley is undoubtedly the most welcomed visitor to the home and provides great comfort and joy to the residents and plenty of entertainment with his antics. He likes nothing more than to stroll around the home and to make his presence known and the smiles and laughter reverberate around Springvale as well as the occasional lap for him to rest on.

Pet therapy is widely recognised in care homes as being hugely beneficial and there is no doubt that Marley plays a huge part in improving self-esteem and mood, as well as physical and mental health among the residents and staff alike.  For our residents who have Dementia and Alzheimer’s, Marley also helps to unlock happy memories of previous pets and time spent with family.
