Giving Back to the Community this Christmas
We believe Christmas is a time for giving, and at Springvale Care Home, that is exactly what we are doing this December.
At our care home, we often hold a lot of intergenerational activities and welcome younger people from our local schools and nurseries to come and spend time with our residents.
This is an activity that has a plethora of benefits for all involved. Our residents light up when the younger children visit and they love reminiscing and sharing stories from when they were that age. It also has a positive impact on the development of children, as it helps improve social interaction and communication.
Collaborating with the younger members of our community has been great for the residents at Springvale Care Home and this Christmas season, we would like to give back.
Working with our local school, we have come to understand that there are families in our community who are struggling, and collectively, we have decided to create food hampers made from donations from staff and relatives to gift to those families.
At Springvale Care Home, we understand the feeling of just needing a little bit of help and support sometimes. We are only too happy to be able to give back to our community of Lennoxtown, East Dunbartonshire this Christmas. We look forward to inviting the children back to our care home soon.
From everyone at Springvale Care Home in Lennoxtown, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
