Residents Enjoy Theatrical Performance

Residents Enjoying Performance

Yesterday, the ladies of Springvale Care Home had a wonderful time when Filipa Fallow, one of our regular entertainers attended the home.

Filipa specialises in theatrical performance and always puts on a wonderful show for us all; yesterday was no exception when she performed songs from musicals written by Rodger and Hammerstein.

At Springvale, we highly value the benefits that exploring musical arts has on all of our residents. Whether it be through song, dance, or musical instruments, entertainment of this kind has a variety of advantages for elderly people, such as;

  • Lowering stress and anxiety levels
  • Boosting creativity and productivity
  • Improving language and speech skills
  • Helping with memory processing and recall
  • Reducing and preventing symptoms of dementia and cognitive decline
  • Improving sleep quality

Musical activities and entertainment are extremely popular with our residents and we go to great lengths to include all kinds within our activity programme. We are glad to be able to invite entertainers back into our home once again and look forward to inviting Filipa back for her summer show, and again in the winter with her colleagues for a Christmas pantomime.

If you would like to find out more about our activities programme or what else Springvale Care Home in Lennoxtown has to offer, then we welcome you to get in touch to speak to one of our friendly team members or to book a tour.
